Why We Built This Site
The AI companion market has grown quickly, and so has the confusion around it. Marketing copy from platforms makes every service sound excellent. User reviews on app stores range from enthusiastic to furious with little context. Security and privacy concerns are real but rarely explained clearly for non-technical users.
We built this site to provide honest, methodologically consistent reviews that help adults make informed decisions — about which platforms are worth paying for, which have legitimate privacy concerns, and which to avoid.
How We Test
Every major review on this site involves:
- Hands-on testing with paid subscriptions — we don't review based on screenshots or marketing materials
- Testing across multiple plan tiers — understanding how free and paid experiences differ is essential context
- Evaluation of stated vs. actual features — we test what platforms claim to offer against what they deliver
- Privacy policy and data practice review — documented analysis of how each platform handles user data
- Subscription and cancellation process testing — we verify that cancellation works as described
We update our primary reviews at minimum every quarter. AI companion platforms change pricing, features, and policies frequently — our commitment is to keep data current.
